FAQ Karmaloop/Brick Harbor's Rep Team's Gift Code

As you're aware I'm part of Karmaloop's/Brick Harbor's repteam. Basically I get points based on every dollar someone spends using my repcode. So I created a new FAQ based off the things that the official website doesn't cover or tell you.

Q. How much points do reps get for every dollar a customer spends?
A. Reps earn 2.5 points per dollar spent or 25 points per $10 spent. So for every $100 spent, we will receive 250 points. Keep in mind you get points for the purchase price of the sale, not including shipping or tax.

Q. What's the conversion rate for points to dollar?
A. Every point is worth a cent. So 250 points is equivalent to $2.50. For every $100 someone spends using our code we only get $2.50. Basically you get 2.5% of the sale.

Q. What's the conversion rate for points to Karmaloop gift certificates?
A. So if you redeem your points for Karmaloop money instead of real cash, you get more. You actually get 1.5 times more. So 1 point is worth $0.015, 100 points is worth $1.50, 250 points is worth $3.75.. etc.

Q. When you redeem the code, how long does it usually take to get approved?
A. Points usually gets approved in a few hours. I notice that it usually gets approved during work hours, so they probably have an actual employee look at the request and approve it.

Q. What do I need to know if I redeem my points for cash?
A. Before you are allowed to redeem your points for cash, you must meet the minimum cash out amount which at the moment is $150. Before they didn't have a minimum amount and after they added one it was set at $500, which is a ridiculous amount considering you only get $2.50 for every $100 spent (to get $500 you will need to have $20,000 in sales. But they just changed the cash out minimum to $150 (which is $6000 in sales). You also have to fill out a W2 before you can request to cash out your points for money. The forms are available on their site and you can either fax or email the forms in. These forms are for tax purposes and must be reported as income. Depending on your tax bracket you will have to pay a cut of the income to the government.

 Q. Do the points expire?
Points must be redeemed in 180 days or they will expire. I actually had some points expire and it was a hassle to get customer service to reinstate it, so just be cautious of the time frame. Karmaloop does not give any warnings that your points are going to expire.

What do I need to know if I redeem my points for a Karmaloop/Brick Harbor gift code? (A lot of these questions cannot be found anywhere, which is why I decided to make this FAQ. It's like they don't want you to know)

Q. Does the gift code expire?
A. The codes expire in 3 months (90 days), but can be extended by contacting their customer service.

Q. What happens if I have two separate gift codes?
Karmaloop's customer service can combine or merge gifts codes in case you redeemed for the gift code on two different occasions.

Q. Does the gift code cover shipping?
A. The gift codes cannot be used to cover shipping cost. So you will need to pay for shipping.

Q. Does the gift code work for Kazbah items?
A. The gift codes cannot be used on Kazbah items on Karmaloop.

Q. Can you use Karmaloop points with other discount codes?
A. You cannot use any promo codes with the Karmaloop gift code. You can only use a rep code but it'll only deduct 1%. You will have to pay full price for every item.

Q. What sites does the gift code work for?
A. Karmaloop, Brick Harbor, and Plndr.
